Just Like the Other One

Okay, here is my White Swan version of this outfit. Reminiscent of last post's vintage plaid wool circle skirt situation, I already had a black shirtdress of eerily similar material, fit, and sleeve length but couldn't help it - had to have this grey one too.

scarf: Charming Charlie, worn here
grey shirtdress: Miss H, thrifted
blue beaded necklace and bracelet:
Gabii's (Progreso, TX), worn here
obi belt: Elizabeth Kelly London, etsy, worn here
skirt: Joe Fresh, worn here
rubber cowboy rain boots: Yippy Natural Rose Skull, Nomad Footwear, worn here

all the other wrist business: detailed here
amber ring: a gift from my mother, detail here
silver water ring: some booth or other ~20 yrs. ago, detail here

I also have the exact same obi belt and same Joe Fresh skirt in black. Hmm. May I just say that I've somehow managed to avoid buying the same shoes or boots in all the colours, because my other patterned rubber cowboy rain boots are shorties - totally different.

Apparently, I like what I like. Speaking of, a new-ish blog I highly recommend is Ann Wood's Blue Hue Wonderland, gorgeous and amazing.

I'm heading over to Patti's Not Dead Yet Style to catch up with all y'all gorgeous and amazing people at Visible Monday. My blog-commenting remains sparse for the super-busy time being, but know that I'm keeping tabs on my blogroll and sending you as much love as ever.

  2. Your posts are satisfying just for the leg shots and the jewellery, although your boots scream for accolates of their own here: yum! And when you see something you love, why not load up with all the colours one's heart requires? I agree. You are gorgeous, Amber. I've found Ann Woods too, I love her blog.

  4. Ooh, Black/White Swans, negative outfits (in a good way) - I see a theme emerging! Don't we often do similar outfits, if the shapes and styles speak to us? I think that's OK, and the layered shirt dress-over-skirt-with-obi-and-boots is perfect on you, whether a dark or pale version.
Gorgeous ring from your mum. She has exquisite taste.
Don't stress about blogging if you are too busy, it's just great to hear from you when you can manage it. Sending you much love right back! xxxxxx

  9. So many details about your outfit are stunning, but as I scrolled down to your boots, I was in footwear heaven. Your collections of bracelets and rings are divine! I understand the concept that if a piece is well loved, a repeat in another color is mandatory!

Thank you for the link to Anne's blog, which is new to me. I appreciate your generosity as you spread 'blogger love.'

  10. I love that you love what you love, you know? That's part of what makes you so wonderfully distinctive and Amber-ish!! You are gorgeous here with the wonderful colors and silhouette. The obi highlights your lovely waistline and plays off the fabulous rain boots. I practically fell off my chair when I saw the amber ring from your mom. Stunning.

Do the rainboots mean it's mud season? I remember it from my sojourn in Vermont. I was never that style-y, however, at least with my boots. :-) LOVE YOU!!

  13. I love the obi belt over the shirtdress and how the red picks out the roses in your boots! Nice touch!

  14. I do love those rainboots. And that belt is perfect on you. This is just a great color combo; muted tones so it's not so stark. Lovely.

  18. Those muted tones look really lovely on you sweetheart, beautiful against your skin tone with the deep plum lipstick. And as I ever I have total boot envy! They're the best!

  19. Your light version is just as cool. Looks like you're ready to play in a play. Maybe where you go motoring with the top down and then stop off for tea and a walk near the bog.

  20. Gorgeous soft colors! I also love how romantic AND badass this look is. Enjoy the busy life, post and comment when you can! (Though I will admit to being curious to see your new chicks when you do have time).

  21. Both versions are neat, but I think I like the white swan better. The way everything goes together satisfies something deep within my soul. (Well, maybe not that deep. But you know.)

I also liked the watch. Sometimes it's the little details that catch our eye the most don't you think?

  24. Coolest boots ever ... wait ... I say that about every pair of your boots that I see! They probably are, though. Love them a lot with your dress ... really cool choice of turquoise colored jewelry, as well.
